Bengaluru Police Introduce Secure Messaging App for Internal Communication

The Bengaluru City Police have launched a dedicated messaging application, BCPChat, designed to enhance secure and efficient communication within the department. The app, developed exclusively for police personnel, aims to streamline the exchange of critical updates while ensuring data confidentiality.  

 

Key Features and Benefits:  

- BCPChat facilitates real-time sharing of VIP movements, media reports, daily crime reports, and situation updates.  

- All communication is securely stored at the Karnataka State Data Centre, preventing unauthorized access.  

- The app includes an intelligent search function, allowing officers to retrieve past records and official documents instantly.  

- It supports the distribution of government orders, circulars, and notices to designated personnel.  

- The platform replaces commercial messaging apps, offering a clutter-free interface tailored for police operations.  

 

Commissioner B Dayananda emphasized that the app is a step toward modernizing police communication, ensuring swift and structured information flow. The department has already begun using BCPChat, with ongoing improvements based on operational feedback.
