India Announces Junior Women’s Hockey Squad for Four Nations Tournament in Argentina

Hockey India has unveiled the 24-member junior women’s team set to compete in the Four Nations Tournament in Rosario, Argentina, from May 25 to June 2. The tournament, featuring Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, and India, serves as a crucial preparatory event for the upcoming FIH Hockey Junior Women’s World Cup in December.  
 
Squad and Tournament Details:  
- Goalkeeper Nidhi has been appointed captain, with forward Hina Bano serving as vice-captain.  
- The defensive lineup includes Mamita Oram, Lalthantluangi, Manisha, Puja Sahoo, Parwati Topno, Nandini, and Sakshi Shukla.  
- Midfielders Priyanka Yadav, Anisha Sahu, Rajni Kerketta, Binima Dhan, Khaidem Shileima Chanu, Sanjana Horo, Supriya Kujur, and Priyanka Dogra will play key roles in team coordination.  
- The forward unit features Hina Bano, Sonam, Sukhveer Kaur, Geeta Yadav, Lalrinpuii, Kanika Siwach, and Karmanpreet Kaur.  
- India will play two matches against each participating nation to assess team combinations and refine strategies ahead of the World Cup.  
 
Coach Tushar Khandker emphasized the importance of the tournament, stating that it will provide valuable international exposure and help identify top-performing players for the World Cup. India will face Chile in its opening match on May 25.
