TATA.ev, the country's leading electric vehicle manufacturer, has launched the first 10 high-speed MegaCharger stations on major highways and cities, a milestone for India's expansion into EV charging infrastructure. Installed in partnership with ChargeZone and Statiq, these chargers take advantage of prime corridors like the Mumbai-Ahmedabad and Delhi-Jaipur highways, and in Bengaluru and Udaipur.
Each MegaCharger offers quick charging of 120 kW to 400 kW, and marquee sites like Vadodara charge up to six vehicles simultaneously, delivering up to 150 km of range in 15 minutes. The rollout is phase one of TATA.ev's aggressive plan to deploy 500 MegaChargers around the nation and increase India's total charge points to 400,000 by 2027.
Balaje Rajan, Chief Strategy Officer for Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, emphasized the chargers will bring an end to "charging anxiety" and make long-distance EV driving in India effortless.
