Black Bands, Golden Memories: Indian Cricket Team Pays Tribute to Late Padmakar Shivalkar in Champions Trophy Semifinal

The Indian cricket team donned black armbands while playing their Champions Trophy 2025 semifinal against Australia in Dubai as a tribute to legendary left-arm spinner Padmakar Shivalkar. The Indian cricket veteran died on Monday, March 3, at the age of 84. Shivalkar, who was renowned for his great bowling talent, was instrumental in Mumbai's Ranji Trophy supremacy, taking 589 wickets in 124 first-class games. The BCCI was deeply saddened by his death, acknowledging his unmatched talent and commitment to the sport. This act by the Indian team is a sign of respect and admiration for Shivalkar's work in Indian cricket.
