David Warner's Bollywood Bow: The Aussie Cricketer's Unexpected Film Debut

Former Australian cricketer David Warner will be appearing in his debut Indian cinema via a cameo role in the Telugu film 'Robinhood', featuring Nithiin and Sreeleela. The film, which is directed by Venky Kudumula, is an action entertainer and will be released globally on March 28, 2025. Warner posted the poster of the film on social media, sharing his excitement with the words, "Indian Cinema, here I come." He has been a huge fan of Telugu cinema for a long time and keeps expressing his fondness for the industry in the form of dance videos on social media, be it hit songs like 'Srivalli' from 'Pushpa' or 'Mind Block' from 'Sarileru Neekevvaru'. The switch is a coming-of-age event for Warner, who has won the hearts of Indian fans everywhere, especially playing as captain with Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL.

 

The plot of the film surrounds Honey Singh, a bold thief who robs the wealthy and distributes the proceeds among the poor, a rip-off of the age-old tale of Robin Hood. Composed by GV Prakash Kumar, 'Robinhood' is shaping up to be an action-packed ride, and Warner's production is likely to draw both the cricket followers as well as cinema buffs.
