The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a major reform in its evaluation process, ending manual paper checking for Class XII board exams from 2026. Introducing On-Screen Marking (OSM), the move promises faster, error-free, and transparent assessment, while Class X exams will continue with traditional evaluation for now.

The board emphasized that while Class XII exams will adopt OSM, Class X evaluations will remain in physical mode for the upcoming cycle. The initiative reflects CBSE’s broader push toward modernization and aligns with global best practices in education assessment.
