Fit India Sundays on Cycle Marks 25th Edition with Special Tiranga Rally

The 25th installment of Fit India Sundays on Cycle, a countrywide fitness campaign, will be celebrated as a special Tiranga Rally on 1st June 2025. The rally, spearheaded by Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya, will be organized at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi, and there will be simultaneous rallies at 2,000 venues across the country. The rally seeks to encourage cycling for health while honoring India's military forces.
1. Country-wide Participation and Guest of Honour
More than 1,200 cyclists will be participating in the rally in New Delhi, while thousands more will be participating all over India.
The Governor of Odisha, Hari Babu Kambhampati, will be flagging off the Bhubaneswar edition of the rally.
Noted personalities, such as Olympic medalist Yogeshwar Dutt, wrestler Sarita Mor, Bollywood actress Sharvari, and former cricketer Saba Karim, will be participating.
2. Increasing Reach of Fit India Movement
Since its inauguration in Dec 2024, Sundays on Cycle has grown to 5,500 spots, involving more than 3 lakh citizens.
The movement has drawn 3.44 billion digital impressions and has been supported by the likes of Sania Mirza, Milind Soman, Emraan Hashmi, John Abraham, Imtiaz Ali, Shankar Mahadevan, and Dara Singh.
3. Fitness and Community Participation
The activity will include zumba, rope-skipping, led yoga sessions, and complimentary health check-ups at Sports Authority of India (SAI) and Khelo India Centres.
Indian roads will become open-air bicycle tracks, motivating families, students, influencers, and elders to join in.
4. Future Outlook and National Impact
The Tiranga Rally underlines the Fit India Movement's vision of making fitness accessible, inclusive, and patriotic.
Organizers plan to take the program further, putting cycling on a daily exercise routine throughout India.
