Karun Nair, one of just two Indians to hit a Test triple-century, has shared his heartfelt thanks after being called back to the Indian Test squad for the upcoming tour of England, marking the end of an eight-year wait since his last game in 2017. Now at 33, Nair described this moment as a mix of pride and relief, saying, “I’m really grateful to be back in the team. It feels amazing and I’m so proud. I was eagerly waiting for this news and received a lot of messages from my loved ones. I’ve been batting well over the last 12-16 months. It’s all about sticking to my processes and continuing to do what’s worked for me.”

Nair’s return comes after a remarkable domestic season, where he racked up over 2,200 runs at an average close to 50 in first-class cricket since 2023, along with a strong performance in the IPL with the Delhi Capitals. His comeback is a true testament to his perseverance, as selectors have recognized his consistency and resilience after years away from the spotlight.

Now, Nair is eager to make his mark as India takes on England in a five-match Test series starting June 20 at Headingley.
