Historic Milestone: Noida International Airport to Be Inaugurated by PM Modi

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Noida International Airport at Jewar in March 2026. The project, spread across 1,300 hectares, is poised to become India’s largest airport and a major gateway for international and domestic travel.

Adityanath highlighted that Uttar Pradesh now has the highest number of airports in India, reflecting the state’s rapid infrastructure growth over the past nine years. The state budget has allocated ₹750 crore for the project, including ₹700 crore for land acquisition and ₹50 crore for construction works.

Officials confirmed that the airport is “ready,” with the aerodrome licence from DGCA being the final prerequisite before operations begin. Once functional, the airport will serve as Uttar Pradesh’s fifth international gateway, significantly enhancing regional connectivity and economic opportunities.
