One of the much-awaited IPL 2025 contests between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) will continue as planned at Dharamshala following a last-minute government clearance to BCCI, courtesy of recent relaxation in regional tension and logistical disruption.
The game was uncertain following increased security fears after India's precision military action, Operation Sindoor, against terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Flight operations were canceled in various North Indian cities, such as Dharamshala, following the operation, leaving uncertainty over team arrangements and match fixtures.

Government Clearance and Security
  • The Indian authorities have formally allowed BCCI to stage the PBKS vs DC at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamshala, on May 8.
  • The clearance follows increased India-Pakistan tensions and heightened security procedures in border areas.
Logistical Adjustments
  • The May 11 PBKS vs Mumbai Indians game, initially planned for Dharamshala, has been relocated to Mumbai due to continued flight cancellations.
  • Airlines have canceled operations in 11 cities in North and Central India, disrupting team and staff travel arrangements.
Future Implications
  • It is rumored that PBKS will shift their remaining home games to other locations if security threats continue.
  • BCCI continues to be in close touch with government authorities to maintain player safety and tournament integrity.
League Status
The IPL 2025 season proceeds as scheduled, with the BCCI watching the unfolding situation and poised to make additional changes if needed.
