In a pulsating thriller at Eden Gardens, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) edged past Rajasthan Royals (RR) by a solitary run in a high-scoring contest. Chasing 207 for victory, RR fell heartbreakingly short, ending at 205/8 in their 20 overs.

Riyan Parag was the standout performer for Rajasthan with a scintillating 95 off just 45 balls, smashing 8 sixes and 6 fours. He single-handedly kept RR in the chase despite wickets tumbling at regular intervals. KKR’s bowlers held their nerve in the death overs, with Sunil Narine being the most economical, conceding just 27 runs in his 4 overs.

Varun Chakaravarthy’s twin strikes—including the crucial wickets of Dhruv Jurel and Wanindu Hasaranga—halted RR’s momentum. Harshit Rana and Moeen Ali also picked up two wickets each, while Vaibhav Arora bowled a crucial final over under immense pressure.

Earlier, KKR had posted a formidable 206/4, which eventually proved just enough. Despite a valiant effort from Jofra Archer (12 off 8) in the end, RR couldn't cross the finish line.

This win significantly boosts KKR’s playoff hopes, while RR will rue missed chances in a match that went down to the wire.
