March into the Future: Indian Army’s TES-54 Invites Young Tech Talents to Become Tomorrow’s Leaders

Indian Army has released the opening of applications for the 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES-54) that provides a great chance for young and bright candidates to get a Permanent Commission as officers. The opening of applications is on May 13, 2025, and will close on June 12, 2025. The recruitment is for a total of 90 provisional seats, with training to begin in January 2026.

Key Highlights

Who Can Apply: Single male applicants who passed their 10+2 exam with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM), and who have appeared for JEE (Main) 2025.

Age Criteria: Candidates should be between 16½ and 19½ years of age as of January 1, 2026. Candidates eligible must be born from July 2, 2006, to July 1, 2009 (inclusive of both dates).

Nationality: Available to citizens of India, subjects of Nepal, and individuals of Indian origin who have come from certain neighboring countries as a migrant with the intent to permanently settle.

Application Process: The applicants need to apply online from the official Indian Army recruitment website. There is no application fee. Only a single application for each candidate is permitted.

Selection Process: Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of JEE (Main) rank and 10+2 PCM marks. Shortlisted candidates will go through a tough five-day Services Selection Board (SSB) interview, and then a medical check-up. Final merit list will be prepared only on the basis of SSB performance.

Training and Commissioning: Chosen candidates shall receive four years of training at top-notch Army institutions, namely Cadet Training Wings and the Indian Military Academy. Cadets upon finishing will receive an Engineering degree and be commissioned as Lieutenants in the Indian Army.

Stipend and Salary: Cadets are paid a stipend of ₹56,100 per month after three years in training, and a basic salary package of around ₹17-18 lakh per year on commissioning, along with allowances and perks.
