India's countryside is experiencing a two-pronged change: MG Motor is aggressively going offline in rural hinterlands, as an influx of 'digital war tourists'-foreign hacking groups-are flooding Indian cyberspace with geopolitical tensions.

MG Motor's Rural Expansion
MG Motor India has announced an ambitious expansion plan to introduce 100 new dealerships in Tier 3, Tier 4 cities, and rural areas by the end of FY2024-25. This will increase its touchpoints to 520 in 270 cities with the aim of covering 100% of the country. The growth is under "MG 2.0," a plan to localize production, increase production capacity to 300,000 units per year, and launch new models every 3-6 months. Customized showrooms will provide electric, hybrid, and traditional cars, making them accessible and trustworthy in untapped markets. The step comes after big launches such as the MG Cyberster and M9, further solidifying MG's EV leadership in India's changing auto industry.

Digital War Tourists Invade:
At the same time, India's digital infrastructure is under a cyberattack wave from 'digital war tourists'-beginner foreign hacker groups taking advantage of the India-Pakistan conflict. Russian, Middle Eastern, Bangladeshi, and Palestinian groups are attacking government, media, and ecommerce sites with DDoS attacks, website defacement, and data breaches. The majority of attackers are "script kiddies" employing simple tools for attention, ideology, or easy money, with most claims being inflated or reused. Cybersecurity professionals caution that these attacks, while low in sophistication, ride the wave of geopolitical instability and can bring critical services to a halt.

India's dual wars-widening mobility offline and protecting its digital borders-are remaking the country's future.
