In a big relief to thousands of students who will appear for the NEET-2025 exam, Central Railway has cancelled its weekly mega block on suburban lines in Mumbai for this Sunday, May 4. The move is to ensure hassle-free and easy travel of NEET hopefuls and their accompanying family members on the important exam day.

Normally, the Central Railway performs a mega block on Sundays on the Main, Harbour, and Trans Harbour lines to undertake routine maintenance and infrastructure development work. These blocks entail stopping or limiting suburban train operations for a few hours, often creating substantial inconveniences for commuters. But to mark the significance of the NEET exam and the fact that a huge number of students are traveling on local trains to reach their exam centers, railway authorities have opted to postpone this everyday maintenance work for the day.

As per the official announcement, no mega block shall be conducted on any of the three important suburban lines this Sunday. The local train services shall run according to the standard Sunday schedule, although with a lower number of trains than on week days. The action shall make sure that students and their relatives are able to travel without unwanted delays or hassle.

This positive initiative by Central Railway has been highly welcomed by students, parents, and teachers, as it reflects the administration's concern for facilitating the educational pursuits of young applicants at a time when one of the country's most crucial entrance exams is being held.
