NTPC Limited, India’s largest power utility, is inviting applications for the position of Assistant Chemist Trainee (ACT). This recruitment drive aims to onboard promising young professionals with a strong academic background in chemistry, offering them a chance to contribute to NTPC’s ambitious growth plans.
Eligibility and application details
- Candidates must hold a full-time M.Sc. in Chemistry with at least 60% marks from a recognized Indian university or institute.
- Final-year students expecting their results by July 31, 2025, can also apply, provided they meet the required marks criteria upon completion.
- The maximum age limit for applicants is 27 years as of May 31, 2025, with age relaxations applicable for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen as per government guidelines.
Selection process and training
- Eligible candidates will undergo an All India Online Selection Test, consisting of a Subject Knowledge Test and an Executive Aptitude Test.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification and further selection rounds.
- Selected candidates will undergo one year of training at various NTPC locations before receiving their final posting.
Compensation and service bond
- The pay scale for Assistant Chemist Trainees is set at Rs 30,000 – 1,20,000 per month.
- Additional benefits include dearness allowance, perquisites, terminal benefits, and other allowances as per company policies.
- Selected candidates from General, EWS, and OBC categories must sign a service bond of Rs 1,00,000, while SC, ST, and PwBD candidates will have a reduced bond amount of Rs 50,000, committing to serve NTPC for at least three years post-training.
Application process
- Interested candidates can apply online through NTPC’s official recruitment portal until May 31, 2025.
- General, EWS, and OBC candidates must pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs 300, while SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, and female applicants are exempt from the fee.
- Applicants should ensure they meet NTPC’s medical standards before applying, as a mandatory health examination will be conducted before final selection.
