NTPC Ramagundam recently marked a significant milestone with the successful conclusion of its 28-day residential Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) Workshop-2025. The event celebrated the graduation of 120 bright and deserving girls from local government schools during a heartfelt valedictory ceremony held at the NTPC auditorium. This workshop is all about empowering young girls from underprivileged backgrounds by offering them a well-rounded development experience that includes academics, life skills, and confidence-building.
Key Highlights
• Throughout the month-long program, participants delved into essential subjects such as Hindi, English, Mathematics, Environmental Science, and computer literacy. They also enjoyed practical sessions that included yoga, health, hygiene, safety, fitness dance, theatre, sports, and public speaking.
• To further inspire the girls and expand their horizons, motivational lectures and industrial visits were organized.
• Looking ahead, NTPC Ramagundam plans to enroll 10 outstanding participants from the workshop into NTPC-run schools for their higher secondary education.
• District Collector Koya Sriharsha and NTPC officials praised the girls for their accomplishments and encouraged them to step into roles as future leaders and change-makers.
• Since its inception in 2018, the GEM initiative has grown nationally, empowering over 10,000 girls across 17 states.

By fostering skills and building confidence, NTPC’s GEM workshop is not just promoting gender equality; it’s also empowering young girls to unlock their full potential. This initiative is set to create a ripple effect, inspiring communities and supporting sustainable development.
