Chennai is bracing for moderate to heavy rainfall as the India Meteorological Department predicts showers across several districts in Tamil Nadu. The downpour is expected to bring relief from the summer heat while also posing challenges such as waterlogging and traffic disruptions.

Weather Outlook:
- The city is likely to experience light to moderate rainfall today, with temperatures ranging between 30 and 34 degrees Celsius.
- Humidity levels are expected to hover around 73 percent, with winds blowing steadily from the south at 19 km/h.
- A cyclonic circulation over the southeast Bay of Bengal and the adjoining South Andaman Sea is influencing the rainfall pattern.
- Five districts in Tamil Nadu are expected to receive moderate to heavy rain on May 14, according to the Regional Meteorological Department.
- The Northeast Monsoon continues to play a crucial role in bringing moisture-laden winds from the Bay of Bengal, resulting in showers along the eastern coast.
