Ravi Dahiya and Deepak Punia Join Sports Minister Mandaviya at Fit India Sundays on Cycle

The latest edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle turned Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium into a hub of fitness and inspiration, with over 750 participants, including teachers, athletes, and fitness enthusiasts. Leading the event was Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya, who cycled alongside Union Sports Secretary Hari Ranjan Rao and a lineup of national icons.  

Olympic silver medalist Ravi Dahiya and Commonwealth Games gold medalist Deepak Punia joined the initiative, encouraging youth and educators to prioritize physical fitness. The event’s theme, Cycling with Teachers, saw educators from various institutions participate, reinforcing the importance of fitness in daily life.  

Event Highlights  

- The initiative aims to promote cycling as a sustainable fitness activity, aligning with the government’s Fight Against Obesity campaign  
- Guinness World Record holder Rohtash Chaudhary, known as Push-up Man of India, and mountaineer Narender Kumar, fresh from his Mount Annapurna expedition, also participated  
- Mandaviya urged teachers to make cycling a trend, emphasizing its role in transitioning from digital activity to physical fitness  
- The event was conducted in collaboration with the Cycling Federation of India, MY Bharat, and various educational boards and institutions  

Dahiya and Punia shared motivational messages, stressing the importance of daily exercise. Dahiya highlighted the mantra that the body is the mightiest tool, while Punia emphasized cycling’s role in promoting fitness and reducing pollution.
