India is introducing a new education era with its AI-First Curriculum, with the goal of imparting the necessary skills to the 21st-century learners. Delhi schools will integrate AI literacy from Class 6 to Class 10 from 2025, focusing on digital literacy, critical thinking, and ethical literacy. The curriculum has been designed by IIT Madras and the Central Square Foundation and is adaptable, multi-language, and focused on the appropriate use of AI.
Key Highlights:
• National Drive: CBSE guidelines and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 are driving the use of AI in Indian schools, and Odisha plans to use AI for 90% of its curriculum by 2036.
• Grade-Specific Learning: From middle school basics of AI to coding, machine learning, and ethics in upper grades.
• Personalized Learning: AI-powered platforms enable adaptive, personalized learning experiences and real-time feedback.
• Teacher Training: Intensive training and online materials assist teachers, both experienced and inexperienced with technology.
Prospect: India's AI-First Curriculum will create a future-ready, ethical generation and make India a global leader in digital and AI innovation.
