In a landmark move for sustainable aviation infrastructure, Servotech Renewable Power System Ltd has secured a contract from Bengaluru International Airport Ltd (BIAL) to install 10 ultra-fast DC EV chargers, each with a capacity of 240 kW, at Kempegowda International Airport. This initiative will create India’s largest airside EV charging hub, boasting a total installed capacity of 2.4 MW.
The chargers will support round-the-clock electric bus operations between terminals and aircraft, significantly reducing the airport’s transport-related carbon emissions. Strategically located within the airside zone, the hub is designed to enable fast turnaround times and enhance operational efficiency for one of India’s busiest airports.
Servotech will oversee the supply, erection, testing, commissioning, and five-year maintenance of the charging station. The project is expected to be completed within 75 days, reflecting the urgency and strategic importance of electrifying airport ground transport.
This development aligns with Karnataka’s broader vision to become a carbon-negative state, and reinforces Bengaluru Airport’s commitment to green mobility. Servotech’s Director, Sarika Bhatia, called the project “a step toward transforming urban transport,” highlighting the company’s growing role in India’s clean energy transition.
With this installation, Servotech cements its position as a key player in India’s EV infrastructure landscape, having already partnered with oil marketing companies and public sector entities nationwide.
