West Bengal HS 2025 Results: Districts Dominate HS Merit List Once More!

West Bengal Higher Secondary (HS) Exam 2025 results have been announced, with districts again outshining Kolkata. Purba Midnapore (East Midnapore) topped the state, while Kolkata stood at third place in pass percentage, again underlining an ongoing trend of top-notch academic performance in Bengal districts.
Overall Performance
Overall pass percentage stands at 90.79%, up marginally from the previous year.
Boys performed better than girls: 92.03% pass percentage for boys, 88.12% for girls
More than 4.73 lakh regular students took the exam.
Top Performing Districts
Purba Midnapore: 95.74% (state's highest).
North 24 Parganas: 93.53%.
Kolkata: 93.43%.
Other districts with more than 90% are South 24 Parganas, Paschim Midnapore, Kalimpong, Nadia, Howrah, Hooghly, and Birbhum.
Toppers and Merit List
72 students got a place in the top 10 merit list, belonging to 20 districts.
Topper: Rupayan Pal of Burdwan CMS High School secured 497/500 (99.4%).
Boys bagged all the top three positions; the top girl being Srijita Ghoshal from Sonamukhi Girls High School who stood at position 4.
Hooghly topped the number of toppers with 14 students in the merit list's top 10.
Other Points to Note
Only 1.7% of students received over 90%.
The semester system will now be introduced from the next session this year.
Hard copies of results and certificates are available from May 8 at designated distribution centers.
