River of Dreams: Yamuna Cruise to Transform Delhi's Tourism Landscape

Delhi is going to start a river cruise facility on the Yamuna, turning a six-kilometre stretch from Sonia Vihar to Jagatpur into a thriving tourism zone. The move, initiated by the BJP government, is meant to promote eco-tourism and generate employment. Two electric-solar hybrid boats will be used, with air-conditioned trips and bio-toilets and safety nets. This eco-friendly initiative is a cooperative effort with India's Inland Waterways Authority and other concerned agencies. Its cruise operation would begin by end-2024.
