Sailing into the Future: Mumbai's First E-Water Taxi Service!

Mumbai is all to debut its first electric water taxi service, boosting transport facilities for locals. The service will run between the Gateway of India and Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), mainly serving JNPT staff. This project, created by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilding Limited, will help reduce traffic jams in the crowded city by encouraging waterway transport. The e-water taxis, which are 13.27 meters long and can carry 25 passengers, have a 64 kWh battery that allows them to run for four hours on a single charge and a maximum speed of 14 knots. With air conditioning, this is a big step towards sustainable mobility in the city of Mumbai. The service is expected to roll out next month, a landmark moment in the city's transportation history.
