In a historic announcement, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced that the state will dedicate its first-of-its-kind Quantum Valley Tech Park to the country on January 1, 2026, in Amaravati. This project, supported by international tech majors IBM, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and Larsen & Toubro (L&T), will create India's most sophisticated quantum computing center. Backed by IBM's state-of-the-art 156-qubit Quantum System Two-the biggest quantum computer in India-the park will transform industries such as life sciences, cryptography, materials science, among others.
The collaboration will speed up India's National Quantum Mission through the development of quantum algorithms and applications to find solutions to hard problems that exceed classical computing capacities. TCS will be integral in democratizing access to quantum across 43 research institutes across 17 states, while L&T completes building the infrastructure for the tech park.
Naidu highlighted Andhra Pradesh's historical contribution to India's IT boom and articulated the state's desire to now spearhead the world quantum computing revolution. The Quantum Valley will generate high-end employment, draw international investments, and establish India as a world quantum innovation hub, representing a revolutionary leap in the country's technology future.
