Boman Irani, the acclaimed actor known for his memorable roles in “Munna Bhai MBBS” and “3 Idiots,” has made a grand entry at the 78th Cannes Film Festival with Anupam Kher’s directorial venture, “Tanvi: The Great.” The film is set for its world premiere on May 17 at the prestigious Marché du Film, marking a significant milestone in Irani’s illustrious two-decade career.

Boman Irani has his long-awaited Cannes debut to his credit as Indian cinema on an international stage with "Tanvi: The Great," a movie directed by veteran actor Anupam Kher.

Irani stars in this poignant drama as Ustad Raza Sahab, an isolated but superlative musical maestro whose life is the emotional center of the story.

Irani called the experience "an honour beyond words," describing the role of Raza Saab as one of the most rewarding of his professional life and speaking with great respect of working with Kher. 

Anupam Kher, returning to directing after decades, will personally introduce the film at Cannes, emphasizing the significance of the project in his filmography.

The cast includes Shubhangi Dutt in the lead role, with special turns by Karan Tacker, Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, and "Game of Thrones" star Iain Glen.

The sound design of the film is taken care of by Oscar winner Resul Pookutty, lending more weight to the production.

Anupam Kher Studios production with the NFDC, "Tanvi: The Great" is already creating a buzz as a celebration of Indian storytelling and artistry on the global platform.
