MRC Agrotech Limited has inked a three-year exclusive marketing and distribution pact with Sikkim’s Temi Tea Estate, the state’s only organic GI-certified tea producer. The deal gives MRC rights to promote, brand, and sell Temi Tea across India and global markets, aiming to boost its premium agri-business portfolio.
MRC Agrotech Limited announced today a landmark agreement with Temi Tea Estate, a Government of Sikkim undertaking under the Commerce & Industries Department, securing exclusive rights to market, promote, and distribute retail packets of Temi Tea both domestically and internationally.
The partnership, signed on October 14, 2025, spans three years plus a three-month moratorium/probationary period, with scope for renewal. As part of the pact, MRC will embed Temi Tea within its brand architecture, acknowledge Temi as the source, and focus solely on its retail tea packet segment. The company will shoulder all promotional, branding, and design expenses while extending its expertise in strategic marketing, advertising, and brand management.
Temi Tea Estate, established in 1969, is Sikkim’s only tea estate producing high-quality, certified organic tea, and holds a prestigious Geographical Indication registration for “Sikkim Temi Tea.” The move aligns with MRC Agrotech’s expansion strategy in premium agri-based products and value chain integration, enhancing visibility in niche beverage markets with high export potential.
While no immediate material financial impact is anticipated, the collaboration is expected to strengthen revenue streams and brand equity over the medium term. Both parties will maintain confidentiality over shared proprietary information, with customary clauses on quality standards, IP protection, and dispute resolution included.
