50% of Indian IT professionals are being given Artificial Intelligence (AI) training directly from their organizations, which is a huge change in India's tech space. As per a survey conducted by Naukri with over 16,000 IT professionals, the report highlights a sudden change from self-learning to organized company-funded upskilling-especially in IT and software services, where technology shifts are quick.

The freshers are among the biggest gainers, with over half of them being exposed to basic or advanced AI training. Mature technology hubs like Bengaluru and Gurugram are propelling this, with a third of professionals employed there being formally trained in AI. Mid- and senior-level staff now have generative AI as the single biggest skill priority, while cloud computing and data engineering remain fundamental for juniors. Despite this progress, concerns persist regarding low salary growth, not enough time, and outdated stacks.
