1. The Big Harvest: Eeki Secures New Financing

Funding Snapshot:

Eeki, a agritech startup, raised $7 million in a new funding round, led by Sixth Sense Ventures.

It is a milestone for the Kota-based company, over three years since it last saw its big raise.

The proceeds from the fundraising will be utilized to expand operations pan-India, increase R&D, and deploy its next-generation Gen 3 aeroponic growing chambers.

2. Farming Without Soil: Eeki’s Aeroponic Edge

Innovation Highlights:

Eeki's aeroponic chambers, climate-controlled, grow vegetables soil-free, with a nutrient-hydrating mist that nourishes roots in mid-air.

This method saves water by up to 95% compared to traditional farming and enables year-round, pesticide-free crop production—even on arid land.

Gen 3 chambers are built using a patented polymer composite that mimics climate and soil conditions with crop development regulation.

3. Scaling Sustainably: What the Funds Will Fuel

Expansion Plan:

Eeki plans to expand its presence from its present 100 acres, while another 70 acres in Rajasthan are under development.

The business is also expanding overseas in the Middle East.

Some of the funds will be directed toward automating irrigation, pruning, and harvesting using IoT-based systems.

It has more than 300 farmers—90% of them women—underscoring its focus on rural inclusive development.

4. The Bigger Picture: Why Eeki Matters

Impact Insights:

With 33% of the earth's land already degraded and 90% threatened by 2050, Eeki's system is a scalable solution to food security and environmental stress.

Its return is comparable to conventional farming costs but with higher benefits and better nutritional value.

The startup's mission is to deliver healthy, locally sourced, affordable food to all—without damaging the planet.
