Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a powerful and emotionally charged address to Indian Air Force personnel at the Adampur Air Base in Punjab on May 13, 2025, marking his first visit to a frontline military installation since Operation Sindoor. The visit comes in the wake of India’s decisive air and missile strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, and amid heightened regional tensions.

Morale-Boosting Visit After Operation Sindoor:
PM Modi’s visit to Adampur Air Base follows the precision strikes of Operation Sindoor on May 7, launched in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack. He met with air warriors and soldiers, reviewed the security situation, and personally thanked them for their courage and professionalism.

Saluting Bravery and Precision:
Modi lauded the Air Force for their “speed and accuracy” in striking terror camps deep inside enemy territory. He declared, “Every Indian is proud of you… You have written history. The terrorists dared us, but you hit them head-on. You wiped out their bases and killed 100 terrorists. They have realised that if they try to attack us, the result will be their destruction”.

“Ghar Mein Ghus Ke Maarenge” Is Now Policy:
The Prime Minister emphatically stated, “We will enter their homes and eliminate terrorists. We won’t even give them a chance to escape.” He called this the “new normal” for India’s counter-terrorism operations, signaling a permanent shift in doctrine.

Clear Red Lines for Pakistan:
Modi warned that any further terror attack will be met with a “definitive reply on our own conditions.” He asserted, “Our ‘Lakshman Rekha’ for Pakistan is very clear; any terror attack will be met with a definitive reply on our own conditions. We will not tolerate nuclear blackmail or separate governments from terror masterminds”.

Countering Misinformation:
Pakistan had claimed to have destroyed India’s S-400 air defence system at Adampur during the conflict. Modi’s visit, with the S-400 system visibly intact in the background, served as a direct rebuttal to these claims. Indian officials and IAF spokespersons dismissed Pakistan’s assertions as “completely false”.

Tribute to Armed Forces and National Resolve:
Modi invoked the legacy of Guru Gobind Singh and the spirit of “Bharat Mata ki Jai,” emphasizing that India is both a land of peace and of warriors. “Your bravery ensures the country sleeps in peace,” he told the personnel, adding that the world now hears the echoes of Operation Sindoor as a testament to India’s intent, policy, and strength.

No Place Safe for Terrorists:
The Prime Minister warned that “no place in Pakistan is now safe for terrorists,” and that the “godfathers of terrorism have realised that casting an evil eye on India will only mean their destruction”.

Commitment to Civilian Safety:
Modi praised the armed forces for ensuring that no civilian flights were hit during India’s strikes, highlighting the professionalism and restraint shown even in high-stakes operations.

Insight
PM Modi’s address at Adampur Air Base marks a watershed moment in India’s security doctrine. By publicly affirming a policy of proactive, cross-border counter-terror strikes and rejecting both nuclear blackmail and artificial distinctions between state and non-state actors, Modi has set a new standard for deterrence. His message was not just to Pakistan, but to the entire world: India’s patience is not weakness, and its resolve is now backed by the operational readiness and morale of its armed forces.

“India is eternally grateful to our armed forces for everything they do for our nation,” Modi said, reinforcing the government’s support and the nation’s pride in its military.
