There is a big IPS officer reshuffle in the offing in Madhya Pradesh, with recommendations already dispatched by police headquarters to the state government. Sources reveal that almost 14 districts such as Katni, Balaghat, Bhind, Dhar, Ashoknagar, Narmadapuram, and Rewa will have new Superintendents of Police (SPs) and other senior police officers.
The reshuffle may impact almost 30 IPS officers, including SPs, four range Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs), and five range Inspectors General (IGs). Some SPs who have been serving in their current positions for three years or longer, or those embroiled in controversies, are most likely to be transferred. Officers of the 2019 batch may also be posted to district-level command posts, while some promotee officers may receive field postings.
Also, some important posts like DIG in Chhindwara and IG in Jabalpur are to be vacated, after recent promotions. The replacements are part of a larger plan to improve law enforcement effectiveness and introduce new leadership to important districts.
