Zerodha CEO and co-founder Nithin Kamath had a time to be proud as Zerodha's name was featured on the iconic Nasdaq billboard in Times Square, New York. The achievement comes as Zerodha became one of the signatories to Nasdaq's Open Source Pledge, a commitment by companies to make financial contributions to open-source software maintainers. Kamath shared a picture of the billboard display, stating, "Feels good to see Zerodha being credited for our open source contributions," referencing the efforts of the company extending beyond brokerage offerings.
Founded in 2010, Zerodha is the number one discount brokerage platform and retail investing pioneer in India. The Open Source Pledge is a push to address the chronic underfunding of open-source projects behind much of the technology infrastructure of today. Zerodha's inclusion among global tech leaders says a lot about its growing presence in fintech.
