India and France have jointly launched the Indo-French Centre for AI in Health at AIIMS New Delhi. Inaugurated by French President Emmanuel Macron and Union Health Minister J P Nadda, the centre will focus on AI-driven research, medical education, and clinical innovation, strengthening bilateral cooperation in healthcare technology.
In a landmark step toward advancing global healthcare collaboration, the Indo-French Centre for AI in Health (IF-CAIH) has been inaugurated at AIIMS Delhi. The centre is established under a joint Memorandum of Understanding between AIIMS, Sorbonne University, and the Paris Brain Institute.
The initiative aims to harness artificial intelligence for breakthroughs in brain health, medical research, and clinical applications. It will also serve as a hub for interdisciplinary collaboration, combining India’s healthcare expertise with France’s technological innovation.
The launch coincided with RUSH 2026 meetings, highlighting the role of AI in addressing complex health challenges and promoting equitable, technology-enabled healthcare solutions. Officials emphasized that the centre will not only advance research but also strengthen medical education and foster innovation across both nations.
