Goa’s Anjuna Beach has a new gem in its culinary crown with the launch of Jolene by the Sea, a beachside restaurant by Amrita Arora Ladak and her husband, Shakeel Ladak. Named after the iconic Dolly Parton song, the restaurant blends global cuisine with a design inspired by the couple’s extensive travels.
The interiors, envisioned by designer Aayushi Malik, feature a 100-foot-long bamboo facade, natural limestone, oakwood accents, and travertine-clad pillars. The space is designed to feel like a vacation home, filled with artifacts and memories from around the world. The restaurant’s lighting, with wooden bead chandeliers and branch pendant lights, creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, especially after sunset.
The menu, curated by Michelin-starred chef Suvir Saran, offers a mix of global flavors with a touch of local Goan essence. Highlights include innovative dishes like fermented rice burritos and spicy misal ramen, catering to both tourists and locals seeking a sophisticated yet relaxed dining experience.
Amrita describes the project as a “pandemic baby,” born out of her love for travel and coastal elegance. With its panoramic ocean views and thoughtfully curated ambiance, Jolene by the Sea promises to be a standout addition to Goa’s vibrant dining scene.
