The National Testing Agency has officially released the NEET UG 2025 cut-off scores, setting the stage for the next phase of medical admissions across India. This year’s qualifying thresholds have seen a dip across all categories, reflecting either a tougher exam, fewer test-takers, or stricter normalization. Candidates who meet the qualifying marks are now eligible to participate in the central and state-level counselling processes for MBBS, BDS, and allied medical courses.

Key Highlights From The NEET UG 2025 Cut-off
- The qualifying percentile remains fixed: 50th for General, 45th for General-PwBD, and 40th for OBC, SC, ST, and PwBD in reserved categories
- The actual qualifying marks have dropped compared to 2024, with the largest decline observed in the OBC and PwBD categories
- Candidates must clear all rounds of counselling to secure a seat, as qualifying alone does not guarantee admission

Category-wise NEET UG 2025 Qualifying Marks
- General (UR) / EWS: 686 – 144 (50th percentile)
- OBC / SC / ST: 143 – 113 (40th percentile)
- General (UR) / EWS – PwBD: 143 – 127 (45th percentile)
- OBC / SC / ST – PwBD: 126 – 113 (40th percentile)

Implications For Counselling And Admissions
- Candidates who meet the cut-off can participate in the Medical Counselling Committee’s All India Quota (15%) and respective state quota (85%) counselling rounds
- The cut-off serves as the first eligibility filter; final seat allotment depends on rank, preferences, and availability
- Students are advised to monitor official counselling portals for updates on registration, choice filling, and seat allotment schedules

What’s Next For Aspirants
- Counselling will be conducted in multiple rounds: Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up, and Stray Vacancy
- Candidates should keep documents ready, including scorecards, category certificates, and domicile proofs
- Those falling just short of the cut-off may explore AYUSH, BSc Nursing, or allied health science programs
