Nissan is all geared up to electrify the Indian automobile sector with the official teaser of two new models-a seven-seater MPV and a five-seater SUV-both basing themselves on tested Renault platforms but with Nissan's unique design and technology.
Key Highlights:
The seven-seater MPV, which shares the same CMF-A platform as the Renault Triber, is to be launched in the fourth quarter of FY 2025-26. It will offer a bold, muscular Nissan design and strong value in the budget-friendly, family-oriented segment.
Following closely in its footsteps, a five-seater compact SUV-based on the next-generation Renault Duster and sharing its CMF-B platform-will be launched in the first quarter of FY 2026-27. The model promises to infuse Nissan's unique Japanese DNA and advanced technologies in one of India's most cutthroat SUV segments.
Both cars form part of Nissan's aggressive plans to concentrate only on SUVs and MPVs for India, with a local manufacturing commitment at its Chennai facility.
Nissan's management underlines that these new launches will "look different, are designed different and feel different," differentiating them from competitors in a saturated market.
With these introductions, Nissan plans to double its Indian lineup by FY26, marking a new wave of innovation and competition.
