Samsung has reached a new record in India's TV market by crossing ₹10,000 crore in TV sales for 2024-being the sole brand to have done this despite an unfavorable year for the industry. Double-digit growth for 2025 is now in sight for the company, led by a focused strategy on high-end, large-screen TVs and innovative AI technology.

Key Highlights:
  • Market Leadership During Industry Decline: As the Indian TV market contracted by more than 10% in 2024 because of poor consumer sentiment and decelerating replacement cycles, Samsung defied the trend with a 9% year-over-year growth in shipments, led by its premium segment and strong offline presence.
  • Premiumisation & Bigger Screens: Demand for 55-inch and above TVs rose 12% year-on-year as Samsung's new line-up-including Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED 4K, OLED, and The Frame models-priced from ₹49,490 to ₹11 lakh. The company is also launching 100-inch and 115-inch variants to cater to the trend of upsizing, even in tier-II and tier-III cities.
  • AI-Powered Experiences: The 2025 lineup includes Vision AI, which adapts picture and sound quality in real time and supports Universal Gesture Control-so users can control their TVs with hand gestures through a Galaxy Watch, without the need for a remote.
  • Ambitious Market Share Targets: Samsung has a target of cornering close to one-third of the Indian TV market with an eye on the ₹40,000–₹70,000 segment, which will be the brands' main battlefield in 2025.
  • Hopeful Projections: Even as the year has been slow so far, experts expect a comeback in the second half on the back of festive buying and upgrades by consumers to premium products.
Samsung's strategy of innovation is all geared to revolutionize the television space in India by bringing high-end features at affordable prices within reach.
