Brighton & Hove Albion cemented their pursuit of European football with a 2-0 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers' Molineux stadium on May 10, 2025. Danny Welbeck netted in the 28th minute after calmly slotting home a penalty for a foul by Matheus Cunha on Mats Wieffer. The strike was Welbeck's 10th of the season in the Premier League, and his manager, Fabian Hurzeler, described it as a personal best.

Despite Wolves' early pressure and early chances, Brighton's defence was solid, and keeper Bart Verbruggen made important interceptions. Substitute Brajan Gruda sealed the result in the 85th minute with a light chip over Wolves' keeper Jose Sa, scoring his first Premier League goal.

The win elevates Brighton to ninth place, with eighth-place Brentford equal points-wise, remaining in contention for European qualification. Wolves, however, register two consecutive losses and remain 14th placed in the standings.
