Rahul Bhatt has singled out Kartik Aaryan's success in Chandu Champion, noting that Aaryan had played Murlikant Petkar-India's very first Paralympics gold medallist-with ease even though he is not an athlete himself. Bhatt mentioned, "He is not like Tiger Shroff or one of those guys," meaning actors who are renowned for their athleticism, but was impressed with Aaryan's transformation and hard work for the role. Critics have seconded this view, describing Aaryan's performance as "career-best" and appreciating his prowess at meeting the demanding physical and emotional demands of the film.
