REC Limited, a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power, has commissioned five state-of-the-art Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) in Uttarakhand under its flagship CSR initiative, 'Doctor Aapke Dwaar'. Inaugurated by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the scheme aims to bridge healthcare gaps in disadvantaged districts-Haridwar (2 units), Udham Singh Nagar (2), and Tehri Garhwal (1). Supported by an investment of ₹6.01 crore, these MMUs will operate on six days a week to offer free diagnosis and primary health care at weaker sections' doorsteps.
In a first of its kind, one MMU is exclusively dedicated to women's health, staffed by all-female professionals to address the unique issues of women in rural and conservative areas. The scheme, run in association with CSC Academy and the state health department, will be integrated with government health schemes, ensuring continuity of care and last-mile medical reach.
