In a gripping IPL showdown, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a competitive 143/8 in their 20 overs, thanks largely to a fiery 71-run knock from Heinrich Klaasen. Coming in at a critical juncture, Klaasen played a counter-attacking innings off just 44 deliveries, smashing 9 boundaries and 2 sixes to provide Hyderabad with much-needed stability after an early top-order collapse.
Trent Boult was the standout bowler for the opposition, claiming 4 crucial wickets for 26 runs, including the dismissals of Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Pat Cummins, and Abhinav Manohar. Deepak Chahar provided excellent support with figures of 2/12 in his four overs, choking the run flow and keeping the pressure on.
Despite Klaasen’s heroics, Hyderabad struggled to build momentum as wickets fell regularly. Abhinav Manohar contributed a handy 43 off 37 balls but lacked support from the rest of the batting lineup. With extras kept to a minimum (just 4 runs), the bowlers maintained discipline throughout the innings.
Now, all eyes are on Hyderabad’s bowlers as they defend a modest total against a formidable batting side in what promises to be an exciting second innings.
