Maharashtra will see a revolutionary surge in its industrial and logistics sector as the state government signs a historic agreement to build more than a dozen cutting-edge logistics parks, with potential for generating more than 27,000 jobs in major cities.

Important Points:

Big Ticket Investment & International Support: The Maharashtra government has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Blackstone-supported X-Space Logistics Parks and Horizon Industrial Parks, attracting ₹5,127 crore as foreign direct investment. This is among the biggest FDI-supported ventures for Maharashtra's logistics industry so far.

Strategic Locations: The parks will be developed in key industrial centers such as Nagpur, Bhiwandi, Chakan (Pune), Panvel, Sinnar (Nashik), and Khandwa, covering 794.2 acres and with 1.85 crore sq ft of built-up space. These areas are selected based on their significance in the multimodal logistics network of Maharashtra.

Job Creation & Economic Impact: The project will create 27,510 direct and indirect jobs, with a special emphasis on hiring locally. The parks will accelerate next-generation manufacturing, warehousing, and supply chain operations, revitalizing regional economies and youth employment.

Sustainability & Digital Enablement: All parks shall be digitally enabled and sustainability-compliant as per the Maharashtra Logistics Policy 2024. Green technology and state-of-the-art digital infrastructure will be the thrust areas of these parks.

Timeline: Land is being acquired and has been acquired in excess of 740 acres. The parks are expected to become operational within the next 18 months with a target for full-scale employment opportunities by 2026.

This public-private collaboration represents a new chapter for Maharashtra's logistics industry, solidifying its status as the best investment and supply chain hub in India.
