India's largest manganese ore producer, MOIL Limited, has revised the price of ferro grades of manganese ore, effective May 1, 2025. The company, in its latest communication, said that ferro grades of manganese ore of Mn-44% and above have been reduced by 5% from the current rates from April 1, 2025. This is a part of the company's routine price review to meet the market situation and customers' demand.
Further, MOIL has also started a steeper fall in ferro grades of manganese ore with below Mn-44% manganese content, reducing prices by 10% for May. Prices have also been reduced for all chemical grades and manganese ore fines, which have also reduced by 10%.
These developments are expected to provide relief to the steel and alloy industries, the biggest consumers of manganese ore, by lowering raw material costs. MOIL's action is a continuous effort to remain competitive and sensitive to market forces, especially in the aftermath of volatility in demand and international commodity prices.
The new rates come into effect as of midnight on May 1, 2025.
