Wipro Executive Chairman Rishad Premji’s annual pay more than doubled to $1.6 million (approximately ₹13.7 crore) in the financial year ending March 31, 2025, as the IT giant posted an 18.9% surge in net profit. This sharp rise comes after Premji had voluntarily taken a 20% pay cut and skipped his commission in FY24, when company profits had dipped. Despite the impressive jump, Premji’s compensation remains well below that of CEO Srinivas Pallia, who earned $6.2 million (about ₹53.6 crore) during the same period, according to Wipro’s latest filings with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
Premji’s FY25 remuneration included salary and variable pay, but he received no stock options this year. The turnaround reflects Wipro’s improved financial performance, with net profit reaching ₹13,135.4 crore. Meanwhile, Pallia’s package comprised salary, commission, allowances, and over 1.6 million stock options, underscoring the company’s focus on leadership incentives.
The pay hikes signal renewed optimism at Wipro as it navigates a competitive global tech landscape, with leadership compensation closely tied to profit growth and shareholder returns.
