In a bid to assist students after the announcement of Class 10 and 12 board exam results, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has initiated a free 15-day psychosocial counselling facility. The helpline that started on May 13 will continue until May 28, 2025, providing valuable emotional and educational guidance to the students and parents at this juncture.
This step comes after CBSE declared results of over 37 lakh students with over 22 lakh passing Class 10 (pass percentage 93.66%) and over 15 lakh passing Class 12 (pass percentage 88.39%). Considering the tension and anxiety that generally accompany results, CBSE's counselling facilities try to provide immediate relief and guidance.
Students and parents are provided with support via multiple channels:
24/7 IVRS Helpline: The callers receive 24/7 advice on stress management, time management, and other exam-related issues by dialing 1800-11-8004.
Tele-Counselling: From 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, 65 trained personnel-including principals, counsellors, and special educators from across India and abroad-offer one-on-one guidance.
Digital Resources: Podcasts and videos of study habits, coping methods, and mental well-being can be found in official YouTube channel and website of CBSE.
In order to avail these services, the students and parents are requested to log on to the 'Counselling' page of the CBSE website or the CBSE HQ YouTube channel. This will help fulfill the emotional needs of the students while they await their results and prepare for national entrance tests like CUET, JEE, and NEET.
