Kia India has declared a milestone collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology, Tirupati (IIT-Tirupati), in an investment of Rs 35 crore over the period of five years. The move is intended to speed up engineering excellence, cultivate research-driven innovation, and groom industry-ready professionals in the domain of automotive and industrial engineering.

Five-year investment: Rs 35 crore will be invested by Kia India between 2025 and 2029 towards establishing academic infrastructure, facilitating collaborative research, and rolling out student development programs.
Makers Laboratory: A sophisticated Makers Laboratory will be set up at IIT-Tirupati, offering students a specialized space to design, prototype, and develop working products. The innovation center is likely to propel hands-on research and interdisciplinarity creativity.
Academia-industry bridge: The collaboration brings on board an internship scheme with Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) to the participating students, providing engaging professional experience and a seamless career transition from academic to industry.
Scholarships and finance: Merit- and needs-based scholarships would be offered for M.Tech students, improving access to postgraduate education and facilities.
