Travel between Delhi and Jaipur has entered a new era of speed and convenience with the opening of the Greenfield Bandikui Spur Expressway. Inaugurated in June 2025 and built at a cost of ₹2,016 crore, this 66.9 km, four-lane, access-controlled highway now connects the Delhi-Vadodara Expressway directly to Jaipur, slashing the journey to just 3 hours from the previous 5–6 hours.
Key Highlights:
The expressway starts at Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) near IGI Airport, Delhi, and ends at Chandwaji, just outside Jaipur, bypassing traditional congested routes.
Vehicles can travel at speeds up to 120 km/h, and the trial run is currently toll-free for 10 days.
The route offers a congestion-free alternative, reducing travel time by 30–45 minutes compared to the old Dausa stretch, and is expected to boost tourism, logistics, and regional economic growth.
The project is part of a broader corridor linking Delhi, Gurugram, Nuh, Alwar, and Jaipur, and will benefit farmers and industries along the alignment.
Outlook:
With final quality checks underway during the trial phase, the expressway is poised to become the preferred route for both commuters and freight, easing pressure on NH-48 and NH-21. Enhanced connectivity is set to drive tourism, industrial development, and agricultural access, marking a major leap for North India’s infrastructure.
