Mohun Bagan Super Giant’s Subhasish Bose and East Bengal’s Soumya Guguloth have been honored with the prestigious AIFF Men’s and Women’s Player of the Year awards for the 2024-25 season. The announcement was made at a grand ceremony in Bhubaneswar, recognizing their outstanding performances and contributions to Indian football.

Bose, a key figure in Mohun Bagan’s defensive lineup, played a crucial role in the club’s historic Indian Super League campaign, securing both the ISL Shield and Cup titles. His leadership and consistency helped Bagan maintain a record-breaking 570-minute streak without conceding a goal, marking one of the most dominant defensive displays in ISL history.

Guguloth, on the other hand, was instrumental in East Bengal’s maiden Indian Women’s League triumph. She finished the season as the third-highest goalscorer with nine goals, including the decisive strike in East Bengal’s title-clinching victory over Odisha FC. Her dynamic presence in midfield was a driving force behind the team’s success.

The awards night also celebrated other standout performers. Mohun Bagan’s Vishal Kaith was named Best Men’s Goalkeeper, while East Bengal’s Elangbam Panthoi Chanu took home the Best Women’s Goalkeeper honor. Emerging talents were recognized as well, with FC Goa’s Brison Fernandes receiving the Promising Men’s Player award and Toijam Thoibisana Chanu of Sribhumi FC earning the Promising Women’s Player accolade.

Coaching excellence was acknowledged, with Khalid Jamil winning the Men’s Coach of the Year award for guiding NorthEast United to the ISL Cup semi-finals, while Sujata Kar was named Women’s Coach of the Year for her leadership at Sribhumi FC.

The AIFF Awards continue to highlight the growing talent and competitive spirit in Indian football, celebrating players and coaches who have made a significant impact on the sport.
